Hi, I’m virginia.

I am a PT, DPT, a growth and mindset coach for female healthcare providers, and the owner of myPT, LLC. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from UNC-Chapel Hill, a Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree from Duke University, and a certification in Trigger Point Dry Needling through Kinetacore®.

With this strong background in healthcare, I fully understand the intermingling of body, mind, environment and spirit. I bring intelligence, humor, grit, and honesty to help others discover their growth potential. I will not promote toxic positivity. I will not sugar coat the truth. I will guide you on a path of growth - weeds and all.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Paul, sons, Jett and Cal, and dog, Lavendar. I am a Crossfit enthusiast, and have a great love for family, friends, travel, cooking and all things Carolina. Go Heels!

Virginia Eulalia Jefferson was my great aunt. She lived to the ripe old age of 99.9 years old. She lived and worked on a farm in rural Tennessee. She is the epitome of growth; aside from the fact that she was 4’10”. Make no mistake, she was a force to be reckoned with. As her namesake, I feel called to grow… personally, physically, emotionally, spiritually, and mentally.

Channeling her grit, I’m always on a journey of growth. I surround myself with like-minded people. I welcome the challenge of those with differing views. Most importantly, I honor myself, which affords me the unique ability to help others grow from a place of authenticity.

WHAT DO I KNOW ABOUT GROWTH

I am constantly growing.

Emotionally

I am a huge fan of self-reflecting. Could I have done something differently? Did I do something well? Did I honor myself? Did I harm someone or something else? Was I clear and honest?

Intellectually

I am a knowledge seeker. My earliest memories are centered on intellectual growth. Whether in school, traveling or playing, I wanted to know and learn MORE. Even after earning my Doctorate, I continue to seek opportunities to learn and grow: reading books, receiving additional certifications, and educating others.

physically

I am constantly changing what I do with my body. My entire profession is based on physical growth. I encourage others to move well and move often. I loathe stagnancy. I literally grew two humans inside my body. There is empowerment in physical growth.

spiritually

We all have a different spiritual core. As a healthcare provider, I have seen this aspect of care frequently forgotten. Honoring the connection of spirit and person is crucial in truly growing. I believe each and every one of us has a guiding force that must be tapped into to achieve true growth. There is an undeniable connection between spirit and growth. Honing into your true center will empower you to move forward in every aspect of your being.

Financially

I have learned to love money and monetize my worth. This can be hard for some because we have guilt about money. Our money mindset matters. It can hold us back, it can push us forward, it can stress us out. Money can be easy and freeing. You can grow your money for years to come if you have the right relationship with it.

Are you beholden to self-deprecating thoughts?

Do you have positive thoughts, but don’t know how to act on them?

You are not alone. You are full of untapped potential.

Where are you on your growth journey? What do you need to reach the next step?

Create the environment, plant the seed, nurture, and thrive!
